Andorra is an ideal destination for mountain lovers in both summer and winter.

Nestled in the middle of the Pyrenees, our small country borders France to the north and Spain to the south. It is a micro-state of only 468km2, with a lot of history behind it and a wide range of activities related to nature, sports and outdoor leisure, all of which are ideal for breathing fresh air and relaxing with family, friends or as a couple.

Snow sports in general, and skiing in particular, are the top winter activities in Andorra. You can enjoy them in the largest resort in the Pyrenees: Grandvalira (just a few metres from the hotel), as well as in Vallnord and Naturlandia.

Museums, Romanesque churches and high mountain villages typical of the Pyrenees complete the leisure and entertainment offer of the Principality. Don't miss them!

If you want to get to know the real Andorra, be sure to savour its gastronomy. The best place to do it is in the "bordas", typical village houses converted into restaurants. Skiing and activities in GRANDVALIRA

Do you like skiing and snow sports? Hotel Font d'Argent Pas de la Casa 4* is your best option, because it is located just 20 metres from the ski slopes. Please note that it is one of the closest hotels to the access to the Grandvalira resort, with connection to the rest of the sectors and its almost 200 km of slopes.

The Pas de la Casa sector has a total of 16 slopes of all levels, snow gardens for children, freeride areas and ski mountaineering circuits. It also has the only night ski slope where you can ski after the other facilities have closed. On Thursdays and Saturdays, from 5pm to 8pm, you can enjoy the experience of skiing down the La Solana/Tubs slope while the sun goes down. For more information, please contact us when you arrive.

In the same area you can also enjoy snowmobile and snowshoeing excursions. And you only have to go to the other sectors to do other snow activities such as mushing (dog sled excursions), igloo building, zip-lining or helicopter flights, among others.

Driving on ICE

Challenge yourself on the ice circuit located in the Envalira pass, 3 kilometres from Pas de la Casa. This is the highest circuit of its kind in the world, at an altitude of 2,400 metres. Almost 1 km long and between 11 and 14 metres wide, it offers 5 different track options.

It is open from December to April and offers snow driving courses at different levels. It also organises company events and hosts major sporting events such as the G-Series.

Height TRAINING

Close to the hotel is the Pas de la Casa sports centre, open all year round. It is the ideal option if you want to train while you visit us.

The centre has a 25-metre indoor swimming pool and a children's pool, a weights room and fitness area, squash and paddle tennis courts and a multi-purpose room for group sports, as well as a climbing area. It also has relaxation and rest areas, such as outdoor and indoor Jacuzzis, Turkish bath, saunas and solarium.

Many sports clubs and elite athletes choose these facilities to train or prepare during the pre-season, due to its location at an altitude of over 2,000 metres above sea level.

Views from the Port of ENVALIRA

This is the highest mountain pass with a road in the Pyrenees and you will find a viewpoint facing Encamp with a small pedestrian area and car park.

From here you will have aerial views over the village of Pas de la Casa, the whole valley and the mountains of both Andorra and the French part of Ariège in France.

In winter it is well worth the effort to take some photos of the white landscape. Are you up for it?

SHOPPING

Shopping in Andorra is one of the best things to do, both in winter and summer.

In Pas de la Casa you'll find an open-air shopping centre where you can buy everything right on the slopes. There are shops selling electronics, perfumery and cosmetics, motorbike accessories, clothes, food and drink and much more.

From reception, we will inform you about the quantities and products allowed to pass through the border on your return.
But don't worry, because the customs exemptions will allow you to get what you want without any problems!

Themal water in CALDEA

Keep an afternoon or a morning aside to visit the thermal waters of Caldea.

You can choose the 3-hour ticket to enjoy a swim in the Thermoludic, the largest spa (and the ideal option if you are travelling with children aged 5 and over). You can also buy the 4-hour ticket to go to Inúu, Caldea's spa with access only for over 16s, whose ticket also includes access to the Thermoludic and Origins spas, as well as the loan of bathing equipment (towel, flip-flops and bathrobe).

GASTRONOMY

Without leaving the hotel, you can enjoy a good dinner with typical dishes of Mediterranean cuisine, carefully prepared. But in the village of Pas de la Casa you will find many more options: from tapas to pizzerias, as well as restaurants serving French and Mexican cuisine...

If you also want to enjoy typical Andorran and Pyrenean cuisine, a visit to a Borda is a must. There are around 20 establishments of this style in Andorra. They are old buildings that were once used to store livestock, straw and cereals, which have now been converted into cosy mountain restaurants. You'll eat deliciously at any of them!
